Delete your account

You can delete your Gimik account and the data in it at any time. Deleting is permanent and cannot be undone.

Cancel Gimik Plus first

Deleting your account does not cancel a Gimik Plus subscription. Apple or Google keeps billing you until you cancel it yourself. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings before you delete.

In the app

1. Open Gimik and go to Profile.
2. Open Settings.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Without the app

Email support@gimik.app from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We delete the account within 7 days and reply to confirm.

What is deleted

• Your account and profile, with all of its photos.
• The somedays you wrote, including other people’s keeps and journal entries of them.
• Your keeps, friendships and invites.
• The messages you sent.
• Plans you created.
• Your journal entries and their photos.

What is kept

• Reports filed about you, and reports you filed. We keep them for safety, with your handle and a keyed hash of your email, so a person we removed cannot quietly come back. If a report was about a message, we keep a copy of that message’s text with it. We keep reports as long as needed to keep Gimik safe and review them from time to time.
• Groups you created stay for the members who are still in them.
• Purchase records are held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat under their own policies.
• Deleted data rolls off our backups within 30 days.
